Fair: Art Basel Paris at the Grand Palais – October 23–25, 2026
Categories : Fairs and Trade Shows, Paris, published on : 8/27/26
Art Basel Paris (formerly FIAC)—the international contemporary art fair and a must-attend event for collectors, enthusiasts, and professionals in the modern and contemporary art world—returns to the Grand Palais in Paris from October 23 to 25, 2026.
Established in 1974, the Foire Internationale d'Art Contemporain (FIAC) was a contemporary art exhibition and marketplace held at the Grand Palais until 1998; it subsequently moved to Paris Expo Porte de Versailles due to renovation work, before finally returning in 2006 to the Grand Palais and the Cour Carrée of the Louvre Museum.
Renamed Paris+ in 2022, the former FIAC adopted its current name, Art Basel Paris, in 2024.
Beneath the restored nave of the Grand Palais—located at the foot of the Champs-Élysées—Art Basel Paris serves as an international gathering place for collectors, art galleries, curators, museum directors, and knowledgeable art enthusiasts.
This year, the contemporary art fair hosts over 200 galleries from 41 countries and territories, showcasing modern and contemporary artworks in all their forms: sculpture, photography, painting, drawing, installation, video, and digital art.
Art Basel Paris 2026 is divided into four sectors:
* Galleries: the main sector of Art Basel Paris, featuring modern and contemporary art galleries showcasing works of exceptional quality.
* Emergence: a sector for galleries presenting young and emerging artists through solo exhibitions.
* Premise: a sector featuring twelve galleries with unconventional curatorial proposals, which may include works created prior to 1900.
* Magazines: a sector where visitors can browse and take home international art publications.
Art Basel Paris 2026 also hosts talks in the Grand Palais auditorium as part of the Conversations program.
Also discover the "Public Hors les Murs" (Off-Site Public) program, aimed at the general public, featuring art installations at nine iconic locations across the capital:
* La Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine: the world's largest museum dedicated to architecture, located at Place du Trocadéro in the 16th arrondissement
