From April 10 to August 2, 2026, the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris is presenting the major retrospective dedicated to Lee Miller in France in twenty years.
Organized by Tate Britain—an art museum in London—in collaboration with the Art Institute of Chicago, the exhibition brings together nearly 250 vintage and modern prints, including several never-before-seen works, and offers a fresh perspective on the work of Lee Miller.
A key figure of the international avant-garde, Lee Miller (1907, Poughkeepsie, USA – 1977, Chiddingly, UK) was by turns a model, Surrealist artist, portraitist, fashion photographer, and US Army-accredited war correspondent.
Long relegated to the role of muse, she is now recognized as one of the great photographers of the 20th century.
The exhibition traces the artist’s entire career—from his early days in New York and his time in Egypt and London to the war years in Europe.
It showcases the richness of a body of work that blends formal experimentation, visual boldness, and political engagement.
Eighteen years after the last French retrospective at the Jeu de Paume, the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris presents an exhibition organized into six sections, combining chronological and thematic approaches.
Opening dates and times:
Daily from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, except Mondays.
Late opening on Tuesdays until 10:00 PM.
Gallery closing begins at 7:45 PM (9:45 PM on Tuesdays).

- From Hotel Jardin Le Brea, take Metro Line 6 at Edgar Quinet (a 5-minute walk) towards Charles de Gaulle-Étoile, get off at Trocadéro station, then take Line 9 towards Mairie de Montreuil and get off at Iéna station. The Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris is then a 5-minute walk away,

The total travel time from our hotel via the metro is approximately 30 minutes.
